The Complaint alleges that during the Class Period, Defendants used GWG to carry out a Ponzi scheme, in which the Defendants diverted hundreds of millions of dollars in GWG investor funds for their own gain. The Complaint further alleges that Defendants' actions rendered GWG unable to make required payments to its investors, substantially destroyed the value of GWG securities, and drove GWG into bankruptcy. Plaintiffs seek to recover compensable damages caused by Defendants’ alleged violations of the federal securities laws and to pursue remedies under Sections 10(b), 15(c), and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and SEC Rule 10b-5.
